Sell stuff

If you think you have nothing to sell look again

Well, I sold these plants from my garden on Gumtree. I didn’t know if my plants would sell as these succulents are not hard to grow. Who’d buy plants that are so easy to grow? Well, It turns out people don’t have time and want a quick fix at a good price – a deal! I only ever use the ‘free’ part of Gumtree. I ignore Gumtree emails trying to get me to pay for ‘upgrades’ or getting my ad to the top of the listing. When I use Gumtree, my aim is to be patient. I let my ad sit there and I wait. If I’ve had no interest or contacts I tweak the ad to try and make it sound more appealing and maybe even lower the price. I only ever need one buyer. Once I advertised a sofa. After a time one person contacted me, only one, and they took the sofa! This always surprises me, I might wait awhile but someone eventually shows up. If absolutely nothing happens I remove my ad, keep the photos and leave the option open to try again another time or maybe try another online selling place. I made over $100 for my plants. $100 may not seem much only it was $100 more than when I started. We’ve just had the annual Garage Sale Trail weekend where I got a lovely lamp for $5; it even had the light globe. The garage sale trail website has lots of good tips about selling your stuff including how to sell on Gumtree. Go take a look at http://garagesaletrail.com.au
