To the last drop

So much more inside!

The last of my Paw Paw lip balm. This appeared to be the case as I squeezed the tube with all my strength. No matter how hard I pressed nothing came out. But was it empty? No, there’s always some left inside impossible to extract. Not being able to squeeze any more out doesn’t mean the end of my tube of lip balm. Using scissors I cut the tube open to use it to the ‘last drop’. The lip balm left in the tube lasted for a week! I do wonder how many people do the same thing? How many of you cut tubes open and make sure the product is completely used up? It has nothing to do with being tight or poor. It’s about not being wasteful and respect for our environment. Lip balm tubes are not the only things I cut open. Tubes of toothpaste and hand cream are other examples. I never cease to be amazed at the quantity left in the tube. Depending on what it is, the product can last me for well over a week after I’ve cut it open. Image that; being able to continue using a product for a week before needing to buy a replacement. Then image how much you would save over a year by doing this. Nothing is wasted and that satisfies me very much. Being wasteful is not good for our planet. Of course you also don’t waste money on buying more product than you need to. There’s a myriad number of ways we can do our bit to help our world. This one is very small and simple but will still have an impact.

  1. I do that too! I agree; there’s an amazing amount left in the tube. It annoys me when the container is metal and I can’t cut it open. I’m sure there’s more in there that won’t come out when you pump. Y.
